The Other Side

This particular piece has been a work in progress for quite some time. I've been laying down paint for over a year on this canvas, just waiting for something to evolve and appear to me. After many layers of paint, there was quite a bit of intrigue for me as an artist letting some of those layers peek thru. The top layer of this painting was all palette knife and a lot of use from the good ole' hands. I used different types of polymers, and acrylic mediums very liberally here. After the painting was nearly completed I decided to cover in a thick coat(s) of acrylic polymer to give it another added dimension. The final completed piece is very interesting. Of course, with all this texture it is a must-see in person if you wish to capture the feeling. This painting is what happens when you break on thru.
